What our notary services cover
We write the deed in Arabic, arrange the certified translation, check that the acts it names are ones the law allows to be delegated in that form, and attend the appointment with you. Ratification itself is the notary public’s act and always has been. Anyone who tells you they will notarise your document themselves is describing something they cannot do.

What the work actually is
Most of it happens before anyone goes near a counter.
A power of attorney does what its words name and nothing more. So the work is deciding what those words have to be, and that is a reading job before it is a drafting job.
- We ask what the agent has to be able to do, in plain terms, and who will receive the deed.
- We check that against what the receiving office requires, because it is that office, not us, that sets the wording.
- We draft in Arabic, because Arabic is the language of the instrument.
- We provide a certified translation where a second language is needed, and both versions are signed.
- We check your identity papers and everything the matter attaches to before anything is submitted.
- We attend the appointment with you.
How our notary services work with the notary
It matters more here than in most trades, so it is worth being exact about.
Ratification is carried out before a notary public
We prepare the document, check it, and attend the ratification with you. The decision to ratify is the notary’s, and the fee for it is the authority’s. That is how every power of attorney in the UAE is completed.
- We do not decide whether an office abroad will accept your deed. That office sets its own requirements.
- We cannot obtain an apostille, because no authority in the UAE issues one. The UAE is not a contracting party to the 1961 Hague Convention.
- We do not quote a government fee as though it were ours. It is set by the authority and can change.
Why the wording decides everything
This is the part that sends people back a second time.
The Civil Transactions Law requires certain acts to be named specifically. Article 870 is the one that does it, and Article 871 limits a general wording to acts of management. A deed drawn without that in mind is often handed back, and the person holding it is usually in another country by the time they find out.
So we would rather spend the time at the start. Tell us the act, not the form you think you need, and we will tell you what the deed has to say to carry it.

“Sell my flat in Dubai Marina while I am in London” is more useful to us than “a general power of attorney”, because the first one names an act and the second one does not.

Questions people ask before they instruct us
Do you actually draft it, or do you send it to a typing centre?
We draft it. That is the whole point of the service. The reading and the wording are the work, and handing that to a typing centre is how a deed ends up naming the wrong acts.
Can you do it if I am not in the UAE?
Often yes, and it is a large part of what we do. A deed signed abroad has to be attested before it will work here, and the route depends on where you are signing it. Tell us the country and we will tell you the route.
Will you tell me if I do not need a power of attorney at all?
Yes. It happens, and saying so costs us a job and saves you a fee. If a simple authorisation letter or your own attendance will do, that is what we will say.
Do you charge for the first conversation?
No. Tell us what the document has to do and you will get a straight answer on whether we can help and what the government fees will be.
What do you need from me to start?
Your passport and your Emirates ID if you have one, whatever the matter attaches to such as a title deed or a vehicle registration, and the agent’s full name exactly as it appears on their own identity document.
